Motience offers technical services for the Visual effects and Animation industry. Our expertise is mainly in the 3D animation package Autodesk Softimage, we also branch out to other applications like Adobe After Effects or Nuke.

We offer general and custom Softimage training to render your own engineers and artists more proficient and productive.

Motience was founded by Hans Payer, an 18 year veteran in technical direction for visual effects of movies, commercials, music videos and feature animation. Hans' credits include Book of Eli, Barnyard, Peter Pan, X-Men, Mystery Men, Intel, Pfizer and Hoover. Biography

Born in the province of Quebec, Canada, Hans Payer delved in the arts and computers at an early age and later combined the two fields to create a flourishing career in visual effects and animation.  In addition to completing his B.A in Graphic Design at the University of Quebec, Hans simultaneously mastered the science of computer graphics and 3-D animation.  He then got a position at Buzz Image Group, a top post-production company in Montreal, as a 3D animator and, soon after, as visual effects supervisor.

After completing visual effects for major feature films and national Canadian commercial campaigns,  Hans moved to L.A. and worked at internationally renowned studio POP - now RIOT - for their award winning work on movies such like Independence Day, What Dreams May Come and Titanic.   At RIOT, He contributed with his talents and expertise on films such as The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl, Peter Pan, Queen of the Damned, Pluto Nash, X-Men and Mystery Men. He also supervised national commercial projects such as Benadryl, Hamburger Helper, Mattel, Radio Shack, Terminix and many others.  Hans won best visual effects for his work on the Ludacris project at the 2004 Music Video Producers Awards.

In 2005, Hans joined the visual effect animation team at Omation Studios in San Clemente, California to work on the animated feature film Barnyard. In 2006, he worked as a Senior Production Specialist for Softimage now own by Autodesk sharing his expertise with various companies around the world including Warner Brothers and Digital Domain.  He was the main designer and developer behind the Shape Animation Rig Export feature in Softimage's Face Robot software. Hans was also produce multiple prototype and recorded multiple demo tutorials.

In 2009, Hans founded Motience and has since helped companies such as Hatch FX, Eden Fx, Proof and Vison Global with their projects.

Hans lives in Woodland Hills, CA with his wife and two daughters.  In his spare time beside spending time with his family, he enjoys rides in his 1964 Thunderbird, photography, skiing and hiking.
